Days before the holiday, it has been said (according to CNN) that the Syria
government would agree with the rebels to cease fire in order to respect the religious
holiday. The rebels would cease fire only if the government holds down their
fire as well, but it doesn't surprise me that distrust between the two would
arise. Because of what happened back in April, the same proposal of ceasing
fire was proposed, but it didn't even last a day, instead the death toll went
up. So, of course everybody was skeptical about the whole idea of ceasing fire, and I can understand why.
Although the plan to cease fire failed, finding peaceful solution for Syria never end. In a recent post from the New York Times, China presents a Four-Point plan to help and try to end the war in Syria. According to Chinese Foreign Ministry, Yang Jiechi, "a political resolution is the only pragmatic option in Syria." Yang also mentioned that despite of the world, or "outsiders' are getting involved with finding a peaceful solution for Syria, Syria's future lays in the hand of its citizens, and we should respect and acknowledge their voice.

I really do hope that one day, in the near future, the madness that's been going on for the past two years will eventually end. IF ONLY both sides would finally come to an agreement to simply cease their fire, finding peace in Syria would be much easier.
